This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the MediChat platform. By using MediChat, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
1. Permitted Uses
MediChat is designed exclusively for:
- Licensed healthcare professionals managing patient communications via WhatsApp Business
- Administrative communication including appointment reminders, follow-up messages, and general health guidance
- AI-assisted drafting of patient responses that are reviewed and approved by the licensed professional before sending
- Voice model creation for use within the platform's communication features
2. Prohibited Uses
2.1 Medical and Clinical Violations
- Sending unsupervised AI-generated medical advice without professional review and approval
- Providing medical diagnoses, clinical assessments, or treatment recommendations through automated messages without a licensed professional's verification
- Prescribing medications, controlled substances, or medical procedures via platform communications
- Using the platform as a substitute for in-person clinical assessment where one is required by standard of care or applicable law
- Practicing medicine in jurisdictions where you are not licensed
2.2 Legal and Regulatory Violations
- Processing or transmitting patient data without required consents, authorizations, or legal basis under applicable law (HIPAA, GDPR, DPDPA, or other applicable regulations)
- Violating any applicable medical, professional, privacy, or data protection law or regulation
- Using the platform in violation of WhatsApp Business Platform's policies, Meta's Terms of Service, or applicable telecom regulations
- Engaging in any activity that constitutes unlicensed practice of medicine or healthcare
2.3 Security and Integrity Violations
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other users' accounts, or our infrastructure
- Probing, scanning, or testing the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written authorization
- Introducing malware, viruses, ransomware, or harmful code
- Using automated scripts, bots, or scrapers on the platform without authorization
- Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
2.4 Content Violations
- Transmitting content that is defamatory, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, or threatening
- Impersonating any person, organization, or licensure status
- Sending unsolicited bulk messages or spam to patients or other individuals
- Collecting patient data without appropriate disclosure and consent
- Using the voice synthesis feature to impersonate a healthcare professional other than yourself
2.5 Commercial Violations
- Reselling, sublicensing, white-labeling, or commercially redistributing the Service without our express written consent
- Using the Service on behalf of or for the benefit of an unlicensed third party
- Circumventing billing, trial limitations, or subscription restrictions
3. Patient Communication Standards
When using MediChat for patient communication, you must:
- Ensure all messages sent to patients have been reviewed and are consistent with your professional obligations
- Obtain appropriate patient consent for receiving communications via WhatsApp
- Comply with your jurisdiction's telemedicine and remote patient communication regulations
- Not use the platform to communicate with minors without appropriate parental / guardian consent and authorization
- Maintain proper documentation of patient interactions as required by your professional obligations
4. Voice Model Standards
When using the voice cloning features, you must:
- Only submit recordings of your own voice
- Not attempt to clone the voice of another individual without their documented consent
- Not use synthesized voice outputs to deceive patients into believing they are interacting with a live person without appropriate disclosure
5. AI Usage Standards
When using AI-generated drafts, you must:
- Review every AI-generated response before sending it to a patient
- Not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional clinical judgment
- Correct any factually incorrect, misleading, or clinically inappropriate AI-generated content before transmission
- Understand that you — not MediChat — are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of all patient communications
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any misuse of the platform — including by other users — please report it to:

7. Enforcement
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning and mandatory remediation
- Temporary suspension of account access
- Permanent termination of account without refund
- Reporting to applicable professional licensing bodies or law enforcement where required by law
- Pursuit of civil or criminal remedies
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities as required by law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP to reflect changes in law, platform features, or industry standards. Material changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice via email or a notice on the platform.
